Fine detail shows so much better when painted on panels than on canvas, so consider prints of this collection on metal, acrylic or wood for a crisp and frameless presentation.

Artist's Description

My new studio as it looked the first time I saw it after driving two thirds of the way cross country. It is located on the original route of the old El Camino Real, the Royal Road the Spaniards built from Mexico City to Santa Fe. Everybody, from legions of Conquistadores, columns of Mexican Army and American Cavalry, outlaws like Billy the Kid and crew, and lawmen like Sheriff Pat Garrett, not to mention all the settlers, travelers, traders, Natives, etc., all passed right by where my doorstep currently is. There’s plenty of Spirits and History here, they are a part of this place and I felt I should include them. Look closely into the open door, into the shadows, you might see them, too…
Original painted on 8x10" stretched canvas.

About Mike Kling

Mike Kling

After living almost all my life along the seacoast and mountains of the east coast, I migrated west to the New Mexico High Desert in early 2019, putting myself about as far from familiar as I could get. Everybody needs a good shakeup now and then, so I am enjoying my Art changing from the Celebration of Familiar to the Exploration of New. I hope you will as well. Thanks for looking.
