I ran across an old photo of one of my bonsai from about twenty five years ago, just before I’d sold it or given it away, and wondered what it might look like today, had I kept it and continued it’s development. So, I painted what I surmised and added a fantasy background to it.
Original painted on 12x4" hardboard panel.

It was entered in an exhibition which requested a haiku with each submission. Here it is:


ah my old bonsai

you are gone twenty five years

how must you look now
